Amber Active - Boccia England Leaders Award
Amber Active - Boccia England Leaders Award

Amber Active is about promoting disability sports in Worcestershire and removing barriers to participation in sport for anyone who has a physical, sensory or learning impairment.  Our weekly session is an opportunity for the local community to come together and provide sport for people  with disabilities who may not get as many chances to participate in sport compared with able bodied people. This is held at The Ryland Centre every Friday 11.00 till 12.15pm.

Figures would confirm that at present less than 2 in 10 people with disabilities in England are taking part in sport. The coaches at Amber Active; Gary, Rob and David want to break down these barriers and offer the best possible selection of sports they can to members.  Recently they took part and achieved the Boccia England Leaders Award, which is designed to increase opportunities for particiption by those who attend the club.

Boccia is a disability sport where players aim to propel balls close to a target ball. Two sides compete as individuals, pairs or as a team of three over a set number of ends. Points are accumulated over the course of a match to find a winner.

Why not come and join us and experience this innovative sport which offers a fun and informal enviornment to make friends and get fit.  Please contact Gary on 01527 873426 for more information.  Please remember to put the 4th July in your diaries as the date of our Annual Community Games!
