New Year, New Amber Eco Blog

Greetings 2015, we hope you all had a great festive holiday.  It feels great to be back at work and trust us there is loads to do.

Towards the end of last year, Mary Knight, a grandmother of one of our Supporting Living clients kindly donated 17 Golden Celebration Roses from David Austin Roses for our vineyard.  We have planted them at the end of each row of vines and cannot wait to see how they look in the Summer.  Thank you Mary and Dave Austin for your kind donation.

The final thing we needed to do in 2014 was close to all our own hearts. We built and placed a swing bench in the Herb Garden in memory of Taylor Ann - a young lady from Rigby Hall School who was taken from us too early. We decided to remember her for the fun person she was and installed the swing bench, now called 'The Sunshine Bench' .  We all took great pride in assembling the bench and now, come rain or shine, we have somewhere to sit and contemplate.  Thank you to Taylor Ann's family for their donation

So January and what should you be doing? Well we have looked around and our priority is to clean up our plot and dispose of all of the damaged and rotten crops ready for the spring and a fruitful 2015!
