What have we been up to?

Back in December, we held our Annual Christmas Concert and raised valuable funds for our Social Enterprise.  We had a lovely time with our friends, singing our favourite Christmas Carols with over 120 people coming to the event which gets bigger and bigger each year!

What Courses are we running at the moment?

On Monday afternoons, some of us have been taking part in an Art and Craft Course run by Worcestershire Adult Education.  The focus of the course is to learn about festivals, celebrations and explore different cultures.

Each of us chose a culture that interests us and researched about this in order to help us decide what to make.  This course challenges our creativity and when our items are completed we will reflect on what we made, how we made it and what each of us has learnt from the experience.

So far some of us have made Festival Masks using papier mache techniques, learnt how to make Chinese Lanterns and designed plant pots for an Easter Tree.

What have our Social Enterprises been upto?

Amber Workshop runs on a Wednesday and anyone can join us in making items which they can then take home with them.  This month we have made Angel Bag Charms which come complete with hand made present tags!  These sessions cost £5 and if you would like to book a place please contact Tracey on 01527 873426.

Amber Active continues to promote health and fitness with our multi-sport sessions taking place every Friday.  We work on our fitness through playing team games such as basketball, cricket and football and compete competitively with each other using hurdles and beanbag races.

We also organise swimming sessions on a regular basis to help build confidence in the water.  All our sports session are designed to develop co-ordination, balance and fitness -  and we have fun and make new friends too!

If you would like to come along to one of our sessions, please contact Gary on 01527 873426 for more information, or why not come along on Friday morning at 11:00 at The Ryland Centre in Bromsgrove.

Work Experience

One of the many ways we promote independence and involvement in our local communities is to support our clients to attend and maintain voluntary jobs.  Whether it is within local charity shops or local cafes our clients enjoy learning new skills and serving and chatting to customers.

Please keep these dates reserved in your diary, and join us in supporting one of our many charity events:

  • Thursday 16th April - Onesie Day, wear your onesie or PJ's to Amber Support in aid of Avoncroft Museum and Amber CIC
