On the 24th May 2016 the Care Quality Commission published their new strategy for 2016 to 2021 which has been developed from listening to thousands of people, providers, staff and partners and reviewing what they have learned together with looking ahead at the challenges the health and social sector has over the next five years.

It makes for interesting reading, however the part we were most interested is in their figures for Adult Social Care and the graph of inspections carried out which identified that Amber Support Services are in the top 1% of Health and Social Care Providers in the UK.

We are very proud of the daily hard work and commitment shared throughout the whole of the existing staff team and to the staff who no longer work for us but have shaped us into the organisation we are today

Our staff team have been recruited not only for their skills and personality but also for their emotional intelligence  - a strategy developed by our HR Manager which sees staff work outside the boundaries of their job descriptions forging ahead in their work, making a difference to the lives of the clients we support.

They are courageous individuals who are willing to speak up for others and themselves, whether it is challenging a decision made or simply asking a very simple question which often people do not have the courage to do.

Our managers do not have egos, willing to admit when they are wrong and to try things someone else’s way. Overall as an organisation I believe that we are Outstanding because we are never satisfied – we have the continued belief that things can always be better and we are driven to improve.  However, this doesn’t mean we don’t give ourselves a pat on the back from time to time!
