Life at Amber Seasons is always full of meaningful moments, and our latest day together was a perfect example of learning, teamwork and enjoying the great outdoors.
We began the day by putting our gardening plans into action. After spending time researching which plants would thrive in our garden space, everyone took part in planting the seeds we had carefully selected and sourced. It was brilliant to see the enthusiasm and care taken by each person involved – a true team effort rooted in shared learning and responsibility. We are excited to watch our garden grow in the coming weeks!
We also celebrated the completion of our latest woodworking project – a set of hand-built wooden planters, crafted for one of our day services. This project has been an opportunity to develop practical skills such as measuring, sawing, and assembling, while also reinforcing teamwork and patience. The finished planters look fantastic and will now serve as a lasting addition to another Amber location, showcasing the pride and effort that went into making them.
Next, we turned our attention to safety awareness by carrying out a planned fire drill. Everyone took part with confidence and calm, showing great understanding of the importance of staying safe and following clear procedures. Drills like this ensure we are always ready, while reinforcing our shared responsibility for one another’s wellbeing.
To finish the day, we enjoyed a well-earned outdoor picnic in the sunshine. It was the perfect way to relax, share stories, and reflect on everything we had accomplished – from growing our own plants to building with our hands and strengthening essential life skills.
