Our Commitment
To Sustainability

sustainable community projects

Looking after our world is so important to us here at Amber Support. That’s why we are committed to reducing our environment impact, improving biodiversity and enhancing overall wellbeing through our sustainable community projects!

In August 2021, Amber Support became one of the first companies to join the ‘SME Climate Hub’, a new ground-breaking one-stop-shop climate action platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim is to cut down on carbon emissions, build business resilience and take climate leadership.

As a part of the Climate Hub, we are committed to…

  • Halving greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
  • Achieving net zero emissions before 2050
  • Disclosing our progress on a yearly basis

The roadmap for achieving this is part of our Community Strategy and includes a carbon reduction project, Amber Seasons, that improves biodiversity and enhances wellbeing.

sustainable community projects

We have a number of fantastic ongoing sustainable community projects to help us achieve our Climate Hub goals, including Amber Seasons – an off-grid community project where people and nature flourish. With a focus on enhancing wellbeing, Amber Seasons offers horticultural therapy and gardening activities set within the beautiful rolling countryside.

We use solar power to generate heat, light and power. Plus, our 200sqm car park area was created using an ‘EasyGrid System’, which enables us to grow grass throughout the area and minimise our visual impact.

All this and more, helps us to provide meaningful long-term change, benefiting wildlife and communities for generations to come.

The Power of
Technology

Our commitment to protecting our local environment and wildlife is paramount to us, which is why we are now an 85% paper-free organisation. Implementing state-of-the-art technology allows us to focus on our clients. For example, our electronic care planning enables us to run more efficiently and spend more time supporting individuals.

An On-going
Project

Of course, our work doesn’t stop there. We are always finding new innovative, sustainable methods to run our organisation. From working with eco-friendly suppliers such as our printers, who plant a tree every time we place an order, to harvesting rainwater, we are driven by the people we support and the respect we have for nature.
