As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives and protecting our environment, the team at Amber Support rolled up their sleeves tor a Big Litter Picking Session – one of our Community Projects held in celebration of Community Garden Week.
Taking place from 1st to 7th April every year, Community Garden Week is a national celebration of the power of gardening in transforming lives. It highlights how shared green spaces can foster well-being, improve mental health, and create stronger, more connected communities. At Amber Support, we are passionate about these values and are always looking for ways to contribute to a greener, cleaner Worcestershire.
Our litter picking event brought together staff and the people we support in a collaborative effort to help care for the spaces around us. Armed with bags, gloves, and plenty of determination, we worked hard to tidy up in our local areas, all while having fun and enjoying the outdoors together. It was more than just a clean-up – it was an opportunity to connect with nature, reinforce our sense of community, and take pride in our surroundings.
Community gardens and green initiatives like this one are about more than just aesthetics. They promote physical activity, social interaction, and a shared responsibility for the world we live in. At Amber Support, we believe that small acts like this – a few hours spent litter picking – can have a lasting impact on both people and the planet.🌻
