Pride at Amber Support

Celebrating freedom,
diversity, equality and
uniqueness

Our Day Service is very much part of our local community, and as June is Pride Month, we organised sessions so that we could talk about Pride and what it means which can sometimes be a difficult subject to tackle. The response from clients was overwhelming, reminding us that any form of discrimination is never ever welcome within our communities. From expressing their love for LGBTQ+ artists and the music they sing, to looking on in wonder at the beautiful artistry of drag queens and how they make us laugh and entertain. Phil wowed us all with his pride flag ‘it’s ok to be gay’ incredibly simple message that summed up all our feelings. Happy Pride everyone from all at the Day Service.

Our community home care team hold annual LGBTQ+ parties at Blossom Tree. We all came together to research and celebrate, coordinating people, as well as virtual gatherings for those who could not make it! We wore bright colours, drank bright coloured mocktails, drew vibrant rainbows of pride, accessorised decorations and tableware and enjoyed different ways to get social with our neighbours and our friends.
